Building code compliance

In Australia, waterproofing of wet areas in residential buildings must comply with Australian Standard AS3740, AS4564 and AS4858 and meet the requirements of the Building Code of Australia. In New Zealand, the waterproofing must comply with clause E3 (internal moisture) and clause E2 (external moisture) of compliance document for the NZ Building Code. In many cases, a dwelling will not be passed by a local government authority unless there is a certificate of compliance.
